What I love about this piece

Lapis is one of my favorite materials to carve. Every piece feels different, and it’s always fun to work with because you never quite know how the color and texture will fully show up when shaping and polishing.

What stands out here are the natural flecks of pyrite. They catch the light and immediately reminded me of stars scattered across a dark blue sky.

It feels like that moment just after sunset, when the sky is still deep blue and the first stars start to appear. That’s what led to the name.
